What makes the west end so great?

My intention is to give one good reason to be happy to be living in Toronto's West End, each week. To start with, I'd like to mention our resident's associations as one of the main factors of our community.

Not only do they organise events like BBQs, garage sales, parties, parades, x-mas caroling etc, they also represent their members political interests. They are one of the backbones of the unique community feel of each neighbourhood. Generally, they are operated by volunteers, who dedicate their free time to help build community culture.
